Splint or no splint? TMJ hellp?

okay so has anyone had their wisdom teeth out and its helped their tmj? they now instead of getting them taken out wnat me to get a splint, people have told me it doesnt help them and can everyon see it when your wearing it? its a waste of money if you ask me! and any other ideas to help my 24/7 painnn from this stupid thing? anyrthing will help!
