??Freezing a cerole with Pearl Barley?

Got a great recipe for a Pearl Barley cerole and am going to slow cook the lot, which having looked on line seems the ideal way for this recipe, any idea how long I can safely freeze it for (only the barley i'm concerned about)as i've never cooked with it apart soups, and am wary that because its a softish grain i don't want it "going off" as it were.
