he's not in it because many players believe that the Home-Run Derby affects your swing because your trying to uppercut the ball more than usual instead of your normal swing. Also, Ive heard that it exhausts you because your swinging your hardest to hit it out, instead of having the three days off to rest and get ready for the second half of the season. All this could also affect his team chances of making the playoffs.
